Let me start by saying the outreach by the seller is worth the price alone. Seller reached out immediately after purchasing with an instruction booklet and some tips on how best to use it. After the product arrived I received another email making sure everything was up to expectations. The product itself is phenomenal. The stone had no chips or defects and has been well above par in use. The wooden base is equally solid and feels well made. Nonslip grip on the bottom of the wood is a nice touch.By far my favorite part of the product is this piece of rubber that fits in between the whetstone and the wood. I know that sounds weird but other stones I've bought didn't have one and I didn't realize how helpful it would be. The rubber fits around the bottom of the stone and settles itself perfectly inside the wood base to create an absolutely perfect fit for no movement, important when you're sharpening knives and stuff. My overall experience has been so positive that I will never buy another whetstone that isn't sold by this company.
Great product. Easy to use. I'm a big fan of collecting knives from tactical to kitchen knives and one of the hardest things to do is maintain the edges. And wet stones can be purchased quite commonly. But the issue is maintaining the angle and the level of pressure as you hone that edge. Normally it takes quite a bit of time to get that muscle mention your hands to master each and usually comes with a price of ruined blade edges in the journey of attaining the skills to sharpen blades this product made things really simple, just follow the guide that you attach to the spine of the blade and your good to go. I buy tons of stuff thru amazon but rarely bother with leaving reviews as there is enough there usually to make or break your product. I really recommend this sharpener, also you get the combo of 1000 grit and 6000 grit. Transition which is all you need. To get the job done for most blades
If your looking at a stone to sharpen your knives you likely know how to sharpen or are wanting to learn. For an affordable sharpening stone that fits easily in a drawer this is your go to tool. Never drag sharpen a fine steal blade, save that for your scrap metal blades.
Product works really great, I really like that a wooden base is included to hold the stone when using it. That's pretty smart.
Works as advertised great stone for beginners if your wanting to learn how to sharpen blades. All I will advise is keep running watter ready preferably hot just like any whetstone. It will get dirty during use. And try not to use the same areas or youll wear the stone down. I highly advertise this whetstone. I've had great success with pocket knives and daggers some of them in really bad shape but I got them sharp again using this sharpening stone
