What an awesome little helper. I have a mix of cast iron, ceramic non-stick and stainless steel pots and pans and my favorite to cook with is the cast iron. When I came across the ringer, I just had to give it a try. I would normally wash my cast iron with table salt and hot water, which does a really great job for my flat surface cast iron cookware. Now I know what most might say about scrubbing off food particles from the cast iron cookware, but I'm a bit OCD when it comes to cleaning anything, period! Since I've been using the Ringer along with the salt and hot water, I am much more comfortable cleaning my grill-style cookware. I'm gonna try it on my stainless steel cookware next to see what happens.
I just recently stumbled upon a mother lode of cast iron skillets and Dutch ovens. Most had to be sanded down and re-seasoned, but 2 were good to go as is, or so I thought. I used a small round griddle to sear a few steaks and even after using some oil, they both stuck badly to the pan.I ordered The Ringer, put some hot water on the griddle and scrubbed. In a few seconds most of the stuck on steak had come off. After a little more elbow grease, the pan was clean.I have since refinished all of the cast iron, so hopefully no more sticking, but if so I know The Ringer will make easy work of cleanup.
This is a great little gadget for cast iron. It quickly and easily gets out the grime after cooking. Just sprinkle some coarse salt and start scrubbing. So glad I happen to come across this item. And the ring for hanging is super convenient as well.
The Ringer is one of those tools you buy and as soon as you use it you wish you had it years ago. It is excellent and makes short work cleaning your pans. Once your done cleaning your pans the Ringer takes seconds to clean. Highly recommend.
I was a bit skeptical but this product has honestly been a lifesaver. This works better than any sponge or steel wool that I've tried with my cast iron and easily removes even caked-on gunk. I haven't had to re-season my cast iron since we got this!
